In the name of something
Greater than themselves.
Holy War
Jihad.
Men will supposedly
Be surrounded
By 70 virgins
In the glory of Allah.
A video recording will
Usually be
Made with the bomber
Vowing to be a martyr
Memorializing himself
For the ages.
He might walk into
A wedding
Or a restaurant
Or board a bus
Waiting for the right
Moment to detonate.
Many innocents will
Be murdered.
Mangled
Remains will
Paint a gruesome
Canvas of death.
Terror
and
Screams
And
Sirens will
Pierce the
Air.
Wailing will
Follow.
Pandemonium.
Acrid smoke
Charred flesh
Pools of blood
Will bleed
Into a cycle
Of
Hate
Revenge
Tragedy
Repeated.
Lessons never
Learned
About why mankind
Has within its
DNA
The
Means to do all
This
And never fully
Understand
As it ripples
Into the future
Searing the past with
Unfathomable
Blasts.
