It is around midnight
On my last night
In San Jose.
On vacation
With my sexy girlfriend.
We went to the
Tropical rain forest
Looking at
Jungle
Waterfalls
Butterflies
And volcanoes
And later was reminded
Just how metaphorical
They are.
It rained and rained.
I want to be
Eating
Drinking
Dancing
Then
Fucking
In an exotic
Foreign city
In the night
But instead
She lies exhausted
Next to me
All pissed off
At me
And now she’s sleeping
As I go out for a walk
Alone Downtown
Thinking of what might have been.
