The poet as superhero (for Todd Moore) special abilities: to step out of the whirling idiot dance over the perimeter and watch from the edge for a second to find words in the air like blossom or vampire bats nail or slide them onto the page making something out of anything & nothing maybe make that old dance a little easier somehow these superheroes don't wield lightning bolts fire shuriken from their fingertips or wear capes without getting some very funny looks they don't leap or collapse tall buildings or trap bad guys in the web of justice they can't hurl buses but sometimes they can fly and the best of them can even stop time.
