On New York City Arrogance There are people That think that the Center of the universe (not just the earth) Is NYC. Manhattan, usually, And perhaps even More specific In relation to their Particular form Of snobbism. Uptown And Downtown Types Sneer at others Outside their Circle of superiority. The rest of the world Is the provinces Where the Unsophisticated Live who don't Get the importance Of Gotham. I have this to say About New York. I love it! I revel in its Uniqueness And spirit And all its Treasures. But I can't stand The vanities And egos That prop up Their need to Feel so smug. I don't live there But I can say this. If I never live There And If I never Visit it again, My life will not In any way Be a failure. I could spend my Entire life outside Its wonders. And be happy, And fulfilled, And just as Sophisticated as If I'd never been There at all.
