A Marine sniper
Looked through his
M40 Rifle scope
And zeroed in on a
A target in the
Battle of
Falluja.
It was just like the
Countless hours
He spent in training
Shooting at concentric
Circled bull's eyes
In the range
Except this time
It was a man
Wrapped in
Blackish robes
Eyes peering out
Of slits.
To the marine he
Was a fanatic.
A crazy
Islamic terrorist
Who was trying to
Kill him and his
Fellow soldiers.
In an utterly alien
Land
Far from home
And it was
Kill
Or
Be killed.
As the
Perpendicular
Sightlines
Crossed and
Focused on
This
Human target
Who had no
Idea he was
Seconds away
From death
From a man
Two hundred yards
Away unseen
on a
Rooftop.
The marine
With little
Hesitation
Gently pulled
The trigger
And
“pop”
Went the
Rifle.
Almost
Instantly
A bullet
Ripped through
The
Muslim’s
Heart and
He dropped
Horrifically
To the ground
A hole in his
Chest
And blood
Splattered around.
As he lie lifeless
Blood pooled around
Him and then seeped
Into the earth.
His family didn’t
Yet know his fate
A soon to be weeping
Mother,
Orphaned kids
But a triumphant
Smile crossed the
Marine's face as
That motherfucker
Got what he
Deserved!
Shouts and
Gun blast
Cacophonies
Pierced the
Air
As the Marine
Looked around
For another
Enemy
To kill to make
The world
A better place!
